DIY | save it for a rainy day

I was inspired by Ellas' post about a penny jar so I decided to re create this myself but with a twist on it. I have always been a bit of a spender so I thought this would be a cute way to save up the pennies until the jar is full, then I can treat myself.

So let us get started;
You will need the following,
- A jar with lid
- Acrylic paint
- A sponge (I used a bath sponge but you could use a kitchen or make up one)
- A Thick and Thin paint brush
- Kitchen roll / a tissue
1. Wash out your Jar and take off any labels, I used an old pasta sauce one.
2. Select your paint colours, I'm using the brand 'system 3'
3. Mix up the paint to create 3 colours, for myself I'm using pink, lime and lemon shades. Then sponge the colours on to the jar.
4. Take your kitchen roll / tissue and wrap it around the jar while the paint is wet, this will create a detailed texture to the jar.
5. Now take your thin paint brush and paint the word 'pennies' on to the jar. Or any word you want such as 'shoe fund'
6. Take the lid and cut a penny sized slot in the top
7. The next step is to paint the lid or if you want to you can decopauge the lid like I did
8. Bam! You are done! All there is to do now is put in some pennies!

DIY | Ombre nails

Ombre Ombre Ombre! Everything is ombre latley, from hair to jumpers! So following this trend I decided to try out an ombre nail look. I was inspired by this photo I found on my tumblr dashboard.
Okay so on with the tutorial;
You will need the following - a sponge, scissors, 3 nail shades that flow [eg' blue, purple, pink or yellow, orange, pink], a base colour (I used a baby pink with shimmer) and nail varnish remover.

1. Paint your nails with the base colour, one coat only, make sure it is smooth.

2. Cut the sponge to the side of your biggest nail (most likely your thumb)

3. With your three colours of polish, paint vertical stripes on the sponge, you will need to do this quite thickly.

4. Sponge the painted sponge on to your nails, covering all surfaces (this will get messy!!)
5. Once the nails have dried remove all nail varnish from your skin with nail varnish remover!
6. You should now have beautiful summery nails!!

HAUL| Rebel rebel clothing

I recently discovered a website called rebel rebel they sell quality clothing for a very good price! Also if you like the facebook page you receive 10% off your first order! Bargain!

The two items I chose were the black & white cross print vest (£5) and the peace sign acid wash vest (also £5).

Okay so the peace vest is up first for examination!
QUALITY: Amazing quality for the price, a few stitching glitches here and there but otherwise perfect.
PRICE: Very good price!
TEXTURE: Extremely soft and comfortable.
RATING: 9/10

The cross vest!
QUALITY: Good quality for the price, dropped pits add a casual feel.
PRICE: Amazing price!
TEXTURE: Soft and light.
RATING: 8/10

I paired the peace vest with these mint jeans from topshop, I love pastels for this season.

The cross tee is worn with the same mint jeans, however I tucked in the vest. I put on a grey blazer from H&M to add smartness to the look.

STYLE ICON | Millie Mackintosh | Re creation

I am in L♥VE with Millie Macintosh's style, for those of you who do not know she is one of the leading characters in the hit TV show 'Made in Chelsea' and is currently dating Professor Green. I am eager to re-create her look from the red carpet a few months back. It is so elegant and textured I decided I NEED this amazing tailoring in my life.
This is the look I want to create:
Here are the few pieces I found to make the sophisticated look:
So, first thing first, the blazer. This blazer is from H&M for £29.99, it is a cream shade with woven glitter threads to add an elegant classy feel. It can be dressed up with a button up shirt and wedges or dressed down with jeans. The blazer is a different colour to Millie's to add more of a summery touch.

The shirt is from topshop, it costs £36, yes I know its expensive but it is a timeless and staple piece. Every girl needs at least one good quality white button up! Millie is sporting a low neckline but fear not you can always do up the buttons!

Now for my favourite bit, the leather shorts! These topshop faux leather shorts only cost £30, a steal if you ask me! They are very versatile for day or night time looks, you can tuck or untuck numerous tops for an instant spice to the outfit.

These are not the exact shoes Miss Mackintosh is wearing but a very close match! These chunky heeled platforms are perfect for summer or winter!

I will soon create this look myself and tell you if I find any other style matches to this outfit!
